Deel is now presenting two new AI solutions that will help companies both automate complex workflows and gain better insight into how AI is actually used in the organization.
Akai by Deel — a proprietary AI platform that automates mission-critical processes such as payroll, compliance, payments and administrative workflows on a large scale.
Share Engage — new AI capabilities to measure and understand employees' AI maturity through actual use of AI tools.
Akai by Deel: AI platform for complex automation
Akai was originally developed internally at Deel to handle complex processes that traditional automation tools could not handle.
The platform is built on a connected system of AI agents that learn workflows, automate processes and get smarter over time. Today, Akai is used throughout Deel's organization in economics, finance and HR.
The result:
- More than 91,000 working hours saved every month
- Over 100,000 cases are handled automatically every month
- Reconciliations that previously took over 20 days are now completed in minutes
- Payroll and payment processes are being automated on a large scale
Akai works on top of existing systems and can work directly in portals, government systems and local payroll systems where traditional integrations are often not enough.
"What previously required around 170 hours of manual registry work can now be started with one click and run in the background. This not only saves time, but also frees up resources so that the team can focus on more strategic initiatives instead of repetitive administration," says Daniel Eisenberg, Sweden Manager at Deel.
Share Engage: New features to measure AI maturity
At the same time, Deel is launching new AI features in Deel Engage that help companies understand how AI is actually used by employees.
Through integrations with tools like Anthropic Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot, companies can track usage patterns and connect AI usage to performance management and skills development.
The goal is to help organizations distinguish between when employees have access to AI tools — and when they are actually using them effectively. Data on AI usage is displayed alongside KPIs, goals, competencies, and feedback to give managers a better basis for performance reviews and skill development.

AI becomes part of the core of the business
According toShareThe launches show how AI is quickly moving from experiments and individual tools to becoming a central part of companies' operational infrastructure.
"Previously, the team had to retrieve data, format files, and log into local systems in several different countries every month. With Akai, we have been able to automate that entire process and instead focus on the exceptions that actually require human judgment," says Daniel Eisenberg.
The question is no longer whether employees should use AI, but how well the technology is integrated into operations and how organizations build AI competence over time.
