A new partnership between global payroll and HR company Deel and equity platform Carta makes it easier for Swedish companies to let employees around the world exercise their stock options.

As more companies hire internationally, managing shares for employees in different countries has become more challenging. The collaboration combines Deel's global payroll capabilities with Carta's share management to create a solution that simplifies tax calculations, payments and compliance with local tax regulations. This saves time and reduces hassle for both employees and companies.

Companies using Carta and Share can now automatically synchronize stock events across platforms. When employees exercise their options, Deel logs the transactions, calculates local taxes, and handles payments for local authorities.
Employees can now also pay for their option exercises in their home country's currencies, which solves a common problem with delays when different currencies are used.
