Fastly becomes the first edge cloud platform provider to join DIMPACT to contribute to the development of standardized methods for measuring and reducing the climate impact of digital services and internet infrastructure.

Fastly announces that it has joined DIMPACT, an industry initiative that brings together leading organizations to develop science-based methods to measure and reduce the environmental impact of digital content delivery. As the first edge cloud platform provider to the initiative, Fastly will contribute edge infrastructure expertise and emissions measurement data to help media, streaming and publishing companies better understand and reduce their digital carbon footprints.

DIMPACT offers methods, data and tools that help companies analyze and reduce the climate impact of digital products and services, while the initiative promotes collaboration between actors throughout the digital value chain.

Through its participation, Fastly to contribute knowledge about how data is transported through the internet and how edge infrastructure impacts energy consumption and emissions.
