Check Point and OpenAI deepen collaboration to strengthen AI-based cybersecurity, threat detection and incident management for enterprises.

Check Point Software Technologies announced that the company will integrate OpenAI’s advanced cybersecurity capabilities into its customer-facing security solutions as part of the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, an initiative that only includes a limited number of select security vendors.

The partnership will enable Check Point to integrate OpenAI's models directly into its products, workflows and security services, with the aim of strengthening companies' ability to prevent threats, streamline incident management and improve overall security operations.

The collaboration is particularly significant as Check Point and OpenAI together help set the framework for the responsible use of advanced AI in cybersecurity. The technology will now be built directly into the solutions used by customers, with the security controls and protections required for mission-critical environments.

The collaboration is driven by the rapid development of AI that is reshaping today's threat landscape. Cybercriminals are using the technology to automate attacks, create more convincing fraud attempts, and identify vulnerabilities at scale. Meeting this development requires advanced defense capabilities that can be used safely and responsibly.

“Our collaboration with OpenAI is based on a shared ambition to translate the latest AI technology into practical customer value,” says Fredrik Sandström, security expert at Check Point Software. As one of the few security vendors included in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, we have the opportunity to contribute to the responsible development of AI in cybersecurity.

Within the framework of the collaboration, evaluates Checkpoint which security processes and use cases can benefit most from OpenAI's cybersecurity models. The focus is on creating measurable value for customers through improved threat detection, faster analysis, and more effective protections.

The implementation is done in stages, starting with carefully defined areas of use. Then, the use is expanded as security mechanisms and control functions are validated. This approach is in line with Checkpoints overall strategy for AI, where new technology is integrated with a focus on safety, control and accountability.

What does this mean for Swedish companies?

Check Point's integration of OpenAI's cybersecurity models demonstrates how artificial intelligence is becoming a central part of the future of enterprise security. Swedish organizations are facing a rapidly changing threat landscape where AI is used by both attackers and defenders. By combining advanced AI models with established security platforms, companies can improve threat detection, incident response, security analysis and automation of security processes. This will be especially important for businesses in finance, the public sector, industry, healthcare, energy and critical infrastructure.

What does this mean for Nordic organizations?

Nordic companies are investing in increased cybersecurity due to new regulatory requirements, increased cyber threats and the rapid development of AI. The integration between Check Point and OpenAI shows how generative AI can be used to strengthen security operations and improve security decisions in real time. Organizations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland can benefit from AI-based threat analysis, more efficient security centers and faster identification of cyber attacks.

Risks and opportunities

AI brings both new opportunities and new risks. Cybercriminals are using artificial intelligence to automate attacks, develop advanced phishing, create malware, and identify vulnerabilities. At the same time, security vendors can use the same technology to improve threat detection, automate analysis, and reduce time from detection to action. Responsible AI, transparency, and security controls will be critical factors in the future of cybersecurity.

AI and cybersecurity are changing the security market

Generative AI, security automation, and AI-powered security platforms are changing the way companies work with cyber defense. Technologies such as Security Operations Center, XDR, threat intelligence, security analysis, and incident management are increasingly integrated with artificial intelligence. These developments are impacting the entire security market and creating new opportunities for companies to strengthen their digital protection.
