The new solution combines Workday's HR data with Sana's AI platform to offer personalized learning experiences, AI tutoring, and automated skills development for organizations worldwide.
Workday has announced the global launch of Workday Learning, powered by Hello, a new AI-based learning solution that integrates directly with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM). The platform combines information about employees, skills and roles with Sana's AI technology to deliver more personalized and dynamic training experiences.
The launch comes at a time when many organizations are trying to build AI skills while traditional training platforms are often characterized by manual workflows, static courses, and limited opportunities to customize content to each employee's needs.
AI will make learning more relevant
According to Workday, the goal is to shift the focus from standardized training to personalized learning.
Instead of all employees completing the same course, the training should be adaptable to, for example, role, previous experience, skill level, geographical location and future career goals.
The platform includes an AI tutor that can answer questions in natural language, explain complex topics, provide practical examples, and recommend the next training step based on each user's progress.
The aim is to make learning a natural part of the working day instead of a separate activity.
AI helps create training courses
The new solution is not only aimed at employees but also at training managers and Learning & Development teams.
Through AI support, existing PDF files, presentations and training materials can be transformed into interactive digital courses in significantly less time than before.
The AI assistant can also help to:
- write course content
- create quizzes and knowledge tests
- suggest learning objectives
- simplify complex policy texts
- translate training courses into multiple languages
- customize content for different roles and regions
According to Workday, some organizations have reported that production time for training materials has been reduced by up to 98 percent, which means that processes that previously took several weeks can now be completed in a few hours.
Automation of Learning & Development
The platform also includes AI functions for administration of training courses.
When an employee starts at the company, changes positions, or moves to another region, relevant training and learning paths can be assigned automatically.
It reduces the need for manual work around onboarding, compliance training and recurring competency programs.
Because learning data is integrated with Workday's HR information, organizations also have better opportunities to analyze how training efforts affect skills development, internal mobility, performance, and long-term skills supply.
Personalized recommendations based on HR data
A central part of the solution is the connection between Workday HCM and the AI platform.
The recommendations are based on factors such as:
- position
- competencies
- organizational affiliation
- geographical location
- career goals
This means that two people with different tasks can receive completely different training suggestions even though they work within the same organization.
The AI tutor can also provide support directly during the training by answering questions, explaining specific policies, and helping the user put the knowledge into practice.
Focus on faster skills development
Workday highlights that many companies are facing increasing demands for continuous skills development as AI changes working life.
The goal of the new platform is therefore not only to streamline administration, but also to create more engaging learning experiences that strengthen employees' actual skills.
The company states that customers using the platform's AI capabilities have seen faster compliance reporting, higher participant engagement, and reduced administrative burden for Learning & Development teams.
Accenture and Josh Bersin highlight AI-powered learning
Among the organizations highlighted in connection with the launch are Accenture and the analysis firm The Josh Bersin Company.
They describe AI-based learning as an important part of future skills development, where large educational libraries can be modernized and made more interactive while content can be more quickly adapted to changing business needs.
Global availability
Workday Learning, powered by Sana, is now available globally to organizations using Workday HCM.
For businesses that do not use Workday's HR platform, we offer Sana Learn continued as a standalone solution.
The launch marks another step in the development towards AI-powered enterprise platforms where HR data, talent management and intelligent automation are integrated to support both employees and the business's long-term talent supply.
