Roaring and Oxide AI in multi-year strategic partnership – to lead the development of AI-driven risk management in the Nordics

Roaring and Oxide AI are entering into a multi-year strategic partnership to develop AI-driven risk management and risk intelligence in the Nordics.

Access to Nordic data with Oxide AI hybrid AI enables entirely new solutions for risk intelligence. As part of the partnership, Roaring will also acquire hybrid AI technology that Oxide has developed over several years, which will lay the foundation for Roaring's new offering in AI-driven risk management.

The Nordic risk intelligence market is growing by just over 20 percent each year. Banks expect the number of alerts during transaction checks to increase, making infrastructure and improvements in AI a priority area for investment. At the same time, there is still no clear market leader.

Both companies identified the same market need early on and the partnership is the result of several months of technical validation and commercial coordination. The multi-year agreement gives the parties the long-term perspective needed to realize the vision.

“We saw the same market potential and are in complete agreement on what it takes to get there. Now we are focusing on the actual implementation,” says Johan Jensen, CEO at Roaring.

From regulatory compliance to proactive risk management

Roaring already delivers the data required for risk intelligence and the company supports regulated businesses across the Nordics. Through the partnership, this advantage is combined in Roaring Hybrid Intelligence, a hybrid system for AI, built specifically for risk decisions. Customers can thus take the step from working only with raw data to using automated risk screening and entity analysis in the fight against financial crime.

Combating financial crime remains one of the most resource-intensive functions in the banking sector. At the same time, industry data shows that over 90 percent of all alerts from traditional risk monitoring systems are so-called false positives, i.e. events that are flagged as suspicious even though they do not pose any real risk or deviation. This consumes enormous resources and actual threats can go undetected.

With the new system, compliance teams no longer have to manually review thousands of alerts. Instead, they automatically receive pre-reviewed and reasoned risk assessments, where each conclusion can be traced directly to the source and underlying data. Organizations can manage their controls through AI-powered analysis that meets the financial industry's high demands for precision, traceability and zero tolerance for errors, so-called hallucinations.

AI architecture built for business-critical decisions

The system is built on a hybrid AI architecture that strictly separates analytical reasoning from linguistic capabilities. For decisions that require full auditability, predictability and correctness, multiple independent AI engines are used, while large language models (LLMs) are used only for user interfaces and text explanations. The system can also be customized to customer-specific data sources, needs and regulatory requirements, allowing Roaring to support customers in all types of regulated industries.

“Most AI systems today rely on a single type of model to produce an answer. This system works more like a court. Multiple independent AI engines review the evidence individually, and an overall decision layer then weighs all the insights together before making a final judgment,” says Lars Hard, Chief AI Officer and Co-Founder of Oxide AI.

Unlike multi-agent or mixture-of-experts approaches, which are based on the same basic architecture, this system combines completely different AI technologies. Illuminating a problem from multiple independent perspectives significantly improves decision quality, while eliminating the risk of a so-called single point of failure, where a single error can bring down the entire system.

“It is precisely this hybrid architecture with multiple independent perspectives that removes the hallucinations and lack of transparency that previously made regulators skeptical of AI in compliance. It delivers the logic, stability and transparency that regulated industries actually require,” says Lars Hard, Chief AI Officer and Co-Founder of Oxide AI.

Future prospects

The team behind Oxide AI has two decades of experience building large-scale AI systems with high precision requirements, including platforms with over 100 million users globally. Through the partnership, Oxide AI will continue to support Roaring through 2026 and beyond, ensuring continuity as the business scales up. With investors such as SEB Venture Capital and Serenity Capital behind it, Roaring is well positioned in the market.

Roaring plans to launch its first AI-powered risk management services in the second half of 2026, under the name Roaring Hybrid Intelligence. The platform enables organizations to integrate AI into their risk and compliance processes, with full transparency and control.

The partnership also enables Oxide AI to focus on further developing its core platform within hybrid AI for decision support in finance, healthcare and commerce, while remaining an important strategic partner to Roaring.

“We developed this technology for risk management decisions, where mistakes have major consequences. Roaring has the customer base, trust, data and team needed to win in this fast-growing market. Such a perfect match is rare, and once you find it, the decision is easy,”, says Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz, CEO of Oxide AI.
