We welcome Thyrza to the Cloud Family – the multilingual talent from the Caribbean!

Cloud Family welcomes Thyrza Cloud Family welcomes Thyrza
Thyrza Kleine

She grew up on Curaçao – the small Caribbean island whose name many people associate most with colorful liqueur. But for Thyrza Kleine, it is something much bigger: it is home. A home where four languages are everyday life and where young people often look to Europe for their future. At the age of 18, Thyrza did what many from the island dream of – she moved to the Netherlands to study. It was there that her curiosity for value, impact and meaningful numbers beyond traditional business thinking was awakened. Now we are happy to welcome Thyrza to Cloud Family as Sales Manager for the Netherlands!

It was Fredrik from Hicareer who introduced Thyrza to Cloud Family – and once she met the team, everything he said was confirmed. No games, no pretense. Just calm, open questions and space to be yourself.

“I also liked that the company was born from a real problem that the founders themselves encountered during their time at Appland. It wasn’t a theoretical idea – it was a practical solution that became a product. It gave the whole thing a credibility that only comes from experience.”

Essay on fan that aroused curiosity

In the Netherlands, Thyrza studied hotel management and worked in places where the job involved staying calm under pressure – with a smile.
Then her thesis became a deep dive into the Social Return on Investment for a Melbourne restaurant with a “Pay as you feel” concept. By putting numbers on things that are not usually measured, it changed how she looked at value.

About ten years later, she stumbled upon the essay again by chance – and to her surprise, it had been read by many and mentioned in a news article she had not even seen.

“It sparked the same curiosity in me that I had forgotten. I took a chance and got a job in climate technology (on CarbonCloud).
That led to two years of working with leaders in the food industry – from farmers to large retailers in Benelux and Spain – where we transformed vague sustainability words into scientific numbers,” she says.

It has never been about saying the right things – but about asking the right questions and being genuinely curious about the challenges.

“I’m here to understand what it’s like to be in our customers’ shoes. To ask, listen and help tech professionals see what they didn’t know was possible,” she says, continuing; “We help companies save 10–20 % on AWS – without touching their infrastructure and with no lock-in. What makes us unique is that we can reallocate untapped savings in real time.”

She explains that she wants to make technical complexity human, simple and clear enough to understand.

“All it takes is a simple CSV download in seconds. No fixed costs, no gimmicks – just instant results. I’m here to let more businesses know – starting with my Dutch compatriots.”

No bottlenecks and a corporate culture that encourages development

Thyrza explains that the most inspiring thing about the corporate culture at Cloud Family is about iteration. Markus, Jonatan, Henrik and Daniel have built something unusual: a place where you test quickly, learn from it and adjust along the way.

“Ideas don’t get stuck in endless bottlenecks – they move forward. We don’t chase perfection. We build antifragility – because resilience bounces back, but antifragility grows stronger under pressure. At Cloud Family, you’re expected to speak your mind and help shape what comes next – even if you’re just starting out. And that makes it easy for me to come as I am,” she says.

During her third week, she took on the challenge of enrolling for a certification exam that AWS actually recommends six months of experience to take. She dove headfirst into all the acronyms to try to understand the entire cloud ecosystem.

“I aimed high, and missed by about five to seven points. It was raining, and it also happened to be my birthday. So there I was, on my way back to the office to share the news.”

But what could have been a sad story turned out to be something else. Instead, there was laughter and cake at the Cloud Family office.

“It gave me a sense of pride that I actually gave it a try. I went back to the whiteboard, iterated, and was reminded of something Markus said when we first met – he said, ‘I want you to fail, and fail fast. Then we adjust and keep failing until we succeed.’ That moment confirmed everything,” she says.

Sales is full of rejections and missed shots. It's just the nature of the game. Thyrza says the energy of Cloud Family means you don't have to wait to feel ready. You can only drive – without hesitation.

She explains that she sees Cloud Family becoming the silent standard of the future. The one you trust when it matters and when simplicity matters.

“We have had zero customer churn in 2.5 years – that says it all, and makes it easy to spread the word. I am proud that they trust me to take what works in the Nordics and spread it globally,” she says.

“To be honest – what I’m most looking forward to is not having to think too far ahead. Right now I’m just happy to be here. Sitting in my office in Brunnsparken in Gothenburg, looking out at the seagulls, trams, boats and people passing by… and asking myself: How did I end up here – someone from a small island, with a last name that literally means “small” – and getting to talk to tech experts all over the world?”

Besides talking about smart tech solutions, Thyrza also loves cooking for people as much as she likes making them laugh (or as she calls her favorite laugh: “slappe lach” – which directly translates to “weak laugh”).

Tennis is her favorite sport and lakes still feel exotic to Thyrza. She loves to dig around in second-hand stores for hidden treasures and has a penchant for rapping complicated lyrics;

“Kendrick’s DNA and A Tribe Called Quest Can I Kick It? are favorites. Karaoke is absolutely serious. And yes, that's a hint to my new colleagues for the next AW!”, concludes Thyrza.

We are very happy and excited to have Thyrza Kleine on the team and look forward to what she will contribute to the development of Cloud Family!
