In the report Achieving Invisible IT has Lenovo explored how AI is redefining the digital workplace and improving the employee experience. The investigation is based on responses from 600 IT managers worldwide and shows a clear gap between ambition and reality.
Four out of five IT managers see that the systems are not enough
A full 79 percent of IT leaders say they strive to deliver seamless and proactive IT support that minimizes disruption to the workday. However, only 21 percent have achieved truly predictive problem solving using technology today.
The results show an urgent need to simplify IT environments, reduce fragmentation and introduce AI based solutions that can create a more personal and efficient digital work experience.

The survey shows that 49 percent of IT managers believe that productivity and engagement are the most important priorities. At the same time, only 36 percent feel that their workplace today effectively supports employee engagement.
Additionally, 84 percent say they cannot predict workflow disruptions before they occur, highlighting the importance of AI to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
AI powers the next generation of IT support
AI-powered workplace services lay the foundation for invisible IT. By collecting and analyzing data about individual usage patterns, systems can tailor support to each employee, anticipate needs, and resolve issues automatically.
According to IDC and data from Lenovo This strategy leads to a 30 percent improvement in user satisfaction, 30 percent lower support costs, and 40 percent of incidents being resolved proactively.
The human side of AI-driven support
Invisible IT is not about replacing human expertise, but about amplifying it. The survey shows that 39 percent of IT leaders expect AI-driven support to free up time for IT teams so they can focus on more value-added work like improving end-user productivity and experience.

To overcome these obstacles, Lenovo recommends that organizations work to reduce fragmentation in their IT ecosystems, invest in training to raise AI skills within IT teams, and partner with experienced vendors to implement predictable and personalized support in a secure and scalable manner.
