Tech startups Parking Time is gearing up. After the new launch of the app, the company has landed several new customer contracts during the spring, and the step into the larger market is approaching – with high speed, strong vision and a heart that beats for both the user and the future. At the forefront is Matilda Öhman – a young female entrepreneur which takes its place in the parking industry and shows that change is possible.
– “In just a few months, with a small team, we have taken big steps – a new robust and clearer app, several new municipal agreements and thus taken a good initial market position,” says Matilda.

The idea was born in 2021
When Matilda, as a university student, received her first parking ticket for forgetting to put out a parking ticket, the frustration over something so banal – having to run into a store to find a physical ticket – set her thoughts in motion.
“It must be possible to do it smarter,” she thought. And it was.
A lot has happened since then. What started as a simple digital parking disc in app form has grown into a comprehensive platform that challenges the entire parking industry.
New app version and strong team
During the spring, the company launched Parking Time 2.0 – a faster, simpler and clearer app that has been adapted to the growth that is now taking place at express speed. This is thanks to a strengthened team with Johan E. Bengtsson as Technical Director.
– We've fought, and fought, and fought for three years – and now, damn, it's taking off. It's been a challenge to build something that didn't exist, with tools we sometimes had to invent ourselves. But the feeling now, when it's starting to scale seriously, is fantastic, says Matilda Öhman, CEO and founder.
Listening to users – building for the future
Parking Time stands out not only for its technology. The company is driven by a clear user focus. In an industry that is traditionally technology-heavy, Matilda goes her own way. She shows that new perspectives are needed – and that they make a difference.
When more players are now able to offer their services, healthy competition is created that drives development. The result is increased service, smarter functions and more user-friendly apps. For the motorist, this means more choices, clearer pricing and a smoother parking experience.
Competition fosters innovation – and this is exactly where Parking Time wants to be at the forefront.
– We have always built closely together with the users. We listen, adjust and improve. It should be simple, accessible and smart – no matter who you are or where you park. We want to create a solution that is sustainable in several dimensions: technical, social and value-based, she says.
Expansion at rocket speed – what happens next?
During the spring, Parking Time has established itself in several new cities, in just a few months. More partners have been added, including Gothenburg, many more users have downloaded the app, and more features have been built in.
“Our new version is built to scale quickly. We are ready for a larger market and look forward to the next step this fall,” says Matilda.
Building a company with values
For Parking Time, technology is just one of the pillars. Just as important is building a company with values at its core – where energy efficiency, inclusion, transparency and responsibility permeate everything from product development to customer contact.
– We want to build something bigger than just an app. We want to be the cool parking app with its heart in the right place, with the user experience in focus and without hidden costs. It is important to us to make a difference – for real, says Matilda.
With a strong driving force, a clear purpose and a young female leader who breaks new ground in the industry, Parking Time is not just a technological innovation – but a company that shows that it is possible to change an entire industry, step by step, parking space by parking space.
