The Swedish tech company Airon is expanding significantly with an investment of SEK 5 billion in a new AI facility in LidkopingThe new factory will be Sweden's largest dedicated AI infrastructure and is an important step towards meeting the rapidly growing demand for powerful, sustainable and secure AI solutions.
New AI facility of 20,000 m² and 20 MW capacity
Airon plans to build a new state-of-the-art AI factory with a surface of 20,000 square meters and an effect on 20 megawattsAt the same time, the company's existing facility in Lidköping will be expanded with additional capacity.
When the entire expansion is complete, Airon's AI infrastructure will have a total capacity of over 11,700 GPUs – of which 10,000 in the new factory and 1,700 in the existing facility.

Airon – a Swedish alternative to global cloud giants
Airon offers a unique vertically integrated AI solution where the company develops own hardware, operation and platformThis enables isolated AI environments where customers get exclusive access to computing power without sharing resources – something that is becoming increasingly important for customers in industry, the public sector and research.
– We are not just building a data center – we are establishing a completely new type of AI infrastructure. We are demonstrating that it is possible to create global, high-performance solutions locally and securely, says Robert Lidberg, CEO and co-founder of Airon.
Partnering with NVIDIA for world-leading AI performance
The new AI factory is being developed in close collaboration with NVIDIA, which will equip the facility with the latest AI computing technology. It gives customers access to the most advanced AI power on the market, which is crucial in an era where AI development is accelerating.

100 % renewable energy and waste heat recovery
Airon's facilities are operated exclusively with renewable energy and are designed to recover waste heat to the local district heating network. This means that AI operation does not burden the local electricity grid – and at the same time contributes to lower district heating costs in Lidkoping.
Flexible AI infrastructure for future needs
The factories modular and scalable design enables Airon to quickly adapt to technological developments in AI. Customers can rent entire factories or choose smaller modular parts, depending on needs.
– We believe that the AI of the future built by fast-moving companies with deep AI expertise – not by the traditional cloud giants. Sweden has unique opportunities to become a leader, with access to green energy and world-leading technical expertise, says Lidberg.
