Last week, the winners of Sweden's largest employer branding competition were announced - Magnet Awards – at a ceremony in Stockholm. Sigma Group took home Gold in the Independent Video category with their entry Experts of Tomorrow, produced in collaboration with the communications agency NocNoc.
About Magnet Awards
Magnet Awards was founded in Norway in 2014 and has had a Swedish counterpart since 2016. The competition is run as a non-profit initiative and is the largest of its kind in the Nordic region. The aim is to highlight and celebrate the most innovative and effective communication solutions within employer branding. The jury annually selects winners in seven different categories.
Sigma Group's winning entry
Sigma Group The winning entry is part of the company's long-term commitment to promoting future tech talent. The campaign is produced in collaboration with the communications agency NocNoc.
“The interest in technology among young people is decreasing sharply, while the shortage of engineers and technical skills is already a fact today. If we do not act now, we risk an even greater gap in the future. With Experts of Tomorrow, we wanted to take our responsibility and create a campaign that not only highlights the problem - but also inspires young people to choose a technical education,” says Magnus Liljeqvist, Marketing Manager at Sigma Industry West.
Jury's motivation
The jury's motivation for the Gold Award in the Independent Video category:
“A film that goes beyond expectations and touches deeply. With a strong story, beautiful photography and impressive props, it inspires a technological future – without having to show a single employee. This competition creation that the jury wants to lift to the absolute top dares to be playful, human and at the same time visionary. What we see is a film that not only informs, but truly engages. Congratulations Sigma Group.”
A campaign with long-term impact
The movie Experts of Tomorrow has been shown both digitally and in OOH format throughout Sweden – including at Filmstaden Bio – in 2024. The film was the starting point for a broader commitment: Sigma Innovation Race , a nationwide competition for middle school students that concluded last week and garnered over 150 entries from children in grades 5–6.
“With Experts of Tomorrow and Innovation Race we want to inspire more children to choose a future in STEM. We then continue this work through collaborations with universities and students by offering internships. We also run initiatives such as Femmeginning to get more girls to choose a technical education and, in the long term, a technical career. By encouraging young people's curiosity and creativity, we contribute to the solutions of the future - inclusive, representative and relevant for the whole of society," says Nataly Lamkén, communications manager at Sigma Technology Group.
