Tyrian wants to contribute to technology development and innovation in the civil engineering industry. That was the background to the AI solution that began to emerge in the spring of 2024, and which is now being used successfully in the business. Now Sven AI is being awarded the AI Application of the Year award by the AI Arena Awards.
AI Application of the Year Award
The award was presented on Big AI Day in Stockholm March 20, and the jury's justification was:
“Through Sven AI, Tyréns has moved a large organization within a traditional industry and created a broad commitment to AI. They show that technological development in itself is not enough to achieve the sustainability goals – it is people's ability to use technology correctly that makes the difference. Tyréns creates completely new conditions for collaboration and innovation by giving all employees infinite access to collective knowledge in a AI-powered knowledge system that makes available experiences from thousands of projects and ensures best practice in consulting efforts. Their work is groundbreaking and a source of inspiration for the entire civil engineering sector.”
AI solution adapted for community development
– Sven AI is based on existing language models, where we have then collected and structured our own data with generic open data in the built environment. This makes the tool much more efficient than a general AI solution and allows us to limit the data to a specific area, for example for use by architects or engineers, says Åsa Holmberg, CEO of Tyrian.
AI as a support for innovations
Currently running Tyrian several innovation projects where AI is an important part. One of them is RiskAI which helps with risk minimization during blasting operations. Another is Attain – an AI solution to control and optimize the energy performance of buildings. Another example is QTMS which can predict maintenance needs for railways based on AI and historical data.
– Since 2019, we have had a successful innovation program for new products and services. Now we can also build in Sven AI in our innovations, which will yield even better results, says Åsa Holmberg.
New version and skills development
The investment is financed of Sven Tyrén's Foundation and in 2025 additional resources will be invested in development, which will provide even better functionality. Around 800 of Tyrén's employees in Sweden have so far taken the opportunity to learn more about Sven AI, and now more training will be carried out in the Tyréns Group's various countries.
– The goal of the initiative is to increase productivity and value in our deliveries, as well as drive the development of the civil engineering industry. The time savings mean that we can offer increased interaction with our customers, and spend more time on expert knowledge and solutions, concludes Asa Holmberg.
