Schneider Electric has been named the World's Most Sustainable Company by TIME Magazine and analytics firm Statista for the third consecutive year. The award highlights the company's long-term work combining electrification, digitalization and energy efficiency to reduce emissions and strengthen sustainability efforts for customers worldwide.
Schneider Electric has once again been named the world's most sustainable company in TIME Magazine and Statista's annual ranking of the world's 500 most sustainable companies. The recognition reinforces the company's position as a global leader in sustainable development and energy technology, where Schneider Electric contributes to the transition through electrification, energy efficiency and digitalization
– Being recognized by TIME and Statista for the third year in a row is a great honor. As energy becomes increasingly central to growth, competitiveness and societal development, the need to use it smarter also increases. We see energy intelligence as a key to both increasing efficiency and reducing emissions, helping our customers create long-term value while reducing their climate impact. This belief has characterized Schneider Electric for many years and continues to guide how we develop innovations, conduct our business and drive energy technology forward, says Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric.

This year’s award is particularly significant as Schneider Electric recently launched its new sustainability strategy, Impact 2030. The strategy is based on four strategic pillars: electrifying the world, transforming industry, unleashing human potential and empowering communities. The company’s progress is monitored quarterly through measurable indicators that ensure accountability at all levels.
– This is a nice acknowledgement of the work being done globally and locally. In Sweden, we see great opportunities to help more companies to streamline their energy use, strengthen competitiveness and at the same time take the next step in the transition, says Anna Anderson, CEO of Schneider Electric Sweden.

During the first quarter of the year, reported Schneider Electric that the company's Scope 1 and 2 emissions had decreased by 82.5 percent compared to 2017 levels. Schneider Electric also reported:
- 47.5 million MWh of energy saved or electrified for customers in the first quarter, directly contributing to increased resilience and efficiency.
- 20 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions saved or avoided during the quarter.
- The Group also continued to implement its new framework Future Designed, where 14 percent of the larger offerings in the design phase already demonstrate high circular and environmental standards.
Through Impact 2030, Schneider Electric is also strengthening its efforts to engage its entire ecosystem, based on the understanding that progress can only be scaled up when partners evolve together. Over 1,100 suppliers participated in the Group’s Zero Carbon Pathway initiative in the first quarter of the year, deepening climate work further down the value chain.
In an increasingly uncertain and fragmented global environment, Schneider Electric also believes that long-term progress is built on strong local foundations. People and communities act as local drivers for sustainable change and help translate global ambitions into tangible local impact.
In the first quarter of this year, more than 2.8 million people gained access to sustainable electricity through community-based solutions supported by Schneider Electric. In addition, 113,000 people participated in training and skills development programs in energy, electrification and automation, bringing the total number of people trained since 2009 to more than 1.2 million.

“As we embark on a new phase of our sustainability work with both ambition and humility, this third award gives us both confirmation that we are on the right track and a responsibility to do even more. Impact 2030 provides us with a clear framework to scale up our impact, and we look forward to continuing to accelerate progress quarter after quarter,”, says Esther Finidori, Chief Sustainability Officer at Schneider Electric.
