The need for enhanced cybersecurity
In a time when hacktivists and cybercriminals become increasingly advanced and refined in their methods, Karlstad Municipality needed to supplement its capabilities with Orange Cyberdefenses SOC services 24x7x365, expertise and advice.
The procurement process
The procurement was carried out via a so-called competitive dialogue, which gave Karlstad municipality a good idea of what different suppliers could offer. It also provided a good understanding of what was required of the municipality to receive CyberSOC services. Overall, the procurement form gave the municipality a clear picture of what would be required.

The four parts of the agreement
The agreement with Orange Cyber Defense includes four parts:
SOC service
A comprehensive security service that, using a technical platform, detects abnormal events in the municipality's IT environment and creates an alarm. The alarm is enriched with threat information after which An analyst takes over and determines whether the alarm is a false alarm or real. The analyst then follows the instructions agreed upon with the municipality regarding isolation of infected computers.
Incident Response
An expert team that is ready to support the municipality's own resources or intervene in larger and more advanced incidents, both on-site and remotely, to minimize the consequences, secure evidence and restore the environment to normal operation.
Managed Vulnerability Intelligence
Regular scans of Karlstad Municipality's IT environment is carried out to detect, prioritize and manage vulnerabilities.
