NinjaOne, a leading IT platform for endpoint management, security and visibility, today launched NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment, a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature that makes customers more efficient and resilient. The company also announced the appointment of Joel Carusone as Senior Vice President of Data and AI. Carusone will drive innovation and lead NinjaOne’s product development in AI.
Endpoint growth is accelerating and these devices pose enormous security risks. According to ESG, more than three-quarters of organizations have experienced a cyberattack which began with the exploitation of an unknown, unmanaged, or poorly managed endpoint.* Patching, which is critical to strengthening an organization's security, has historically been cumbersome because IT teams must manually monitor, investigate, and test available patches before deploying them.
NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment reduces patch-related risks by leveraging generative AI to provide comprehensive sentiment analysis for Windows KB updates. It also streamlines the patch management process, making IT teams even more efficient. Benefits of the new feature include:
- More informed decision-making – NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment provides detailed insights and feedback from the community, which helps IT teams determine when they should deploy or defer patches, reducing the risk of applying problematic updates that could disrupt operations.
- Reduced risks related to patches – NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment identifies potentially risky patches, enabling IT teams to avoid security or compatibility issues before they impact the organization.
- Improved efficiency – IT teams save time by quickly understanding the potential impact of fixes without having to manually investigate or test each update, allowing them to devote more resources to other critical and strategic work.
“NinjaOne halved the time we spend on patching,” says John Jenkins, systems administrator and network analyst at Plexis LTD. “Patching is a critical method for our organization’s resilience, but it has previously been a complicated and tedious task. NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment simplifies how we prioritize the patches we deploy, making us safer and more productive. NinjaOne is an unparalleled business amplifier, and their team continues to listen to and act on our biggest challenges without putting our organization at risk.”
NinjaOne appoints Carusone as SVP for Data and AI
NinjaOne is doubling down on its commitment to customer success and has hired Carusone as SVP of Data and AI. A proven technology leader with a passion for innovation, Carusone will oversee the research, development and implementation of secure AI technology methodologies within NinjaOne and work closely with AI-related product development. Carusone previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Zeno Technologies, where he was responsible for product innovation and development for the energy-focused software development company. Prior to that, he was CEO of Radius Intelligence, an enterprise data platform company that was acquired by SoftBank-backed Kabbage, which became part of American Express in 2019. Carusone holds degrees in biology and information science from Syracuse University.
“We are excited about the possibilities and potential of AI, but we are thoughtful about how and where we incorporate it into our products and into NinjaOne. This means having a deep understanding of our customers’ biggest challenges, conducting ongoing research, and conducting extensive beta testing,” said Sal Sferlazza, CEO and co-founder of NinjaOne. “By welcoming Joel to our team and introducing NinjaOne AI to Patch Sentiment, we illustrate our ongoing commitment to our customers to deliver innovations that drive success for their organizations without introducing additional risk.”
“Working in IT has never been more challenging – or important – and that’s why I’m so excited to be building products for this industry alongside the amazing team at NinjaOne,” said Carusone. “We’re actively working on AI projects that will make our customers more productive and secure. NinjaOne AI for Patch Sentiment is a perfect illustration of our philosophy – AI should be intentional, responsible, and solve a specific customer challenge.”
