Then Samsung launched its first foldable smartphone in 2019, creating a whole new product category, the goal was clear: to give users large screens in a phone that fits in their pocket. After years of development and thousands of technical improvements, Galaxy series Foldable phones have not only achieved that goal, but also helped set a new standard for innovation in mobile foldable technology.
Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are Samsung's thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable phones to date.
Convenient size for your pocket
Galaxy Z Flip7 is just 6.5 millimeters thin when open and 13.7 millimeters when closed. Thanks to an ultra-compact circuit board, space is used to the maximum, and Samsung has also improved the battery's energy density. This has made it possible to increase capacity by 300 mAh while making the battery thinner.

Galaxy Z Fold7 is almost half as thin as the first Fold model, with a thickness of only 8.9 millimeters when closed and 4.2 millimeters when open. This 48 percent reduction, along with a wider and brighter screen and a new 21:9 aspect ratio when closed, makes the phone both easy to carry and easy to use.
Stronger and smoother hinges

The Galaxy Z Fold7 features the third-generation Armor FlexHinge, which is 27 percent thinner and 43 percent lighter than its predecessor. Improvements include:
- Thinner rotating and load-bearing parts, which provides a smaller hinge without compromising strength.
- New alloy components that increase material durability by over 14 percent and makes the hinge more durable with repeated use.
- Separate functions for support and rotation, which provides increased stability and greater flexibility in the design.
- A wider opening in the hinge wing, which provides a flatter and cleaner screen.

Galaxy Z Flip7 has Samsung's thinnest FlexHinge to dateIt is 29 percent slimmer than the Galaxy Z Flip6 but is fully compatible with FlexMode.
Thinner and stronger screens

The screen is a central part in the hardware development for the Galaxy Z Fold7. The focus has been on increased durability as well as making the device both lighter and thinner:
- The screen thickness has been reduced by over 39 percent through a completely new panel structure and advanced material choices.
- A titanium grille has replaced carbon fiber, which provides 64 percent better wear resistance and resilience.
- A thinner profile thanks to a new design of the panel's layers that allows them to better handle external stresses while maintaining rigidity.
- Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) is now 50 percent thicker than on Galaxy Z Fold6, which provides a smoother screen surface with less visible folding and improved performance.

With the Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung retains the iconic design from the Z Flip series – but with even more power in an even smaller format:
- The new Infinity Cover Display goes edge-to-edge and has no black border at the top, providing more space for content and a cleaner visual experience.
- The camera is discreetly placed in the corner, which gives a symmetrical and stylish design.
- The screen bezel has shrunk from 3.94 to 1.25 millimeters. That corresponds to a reduction of 68 percent, making this the Samsung's thinnest screen bezel ever on a foldable phone.
Professional cameras in pocket size
Galaxy Z Fold7 offers a top-notch camera experience – with flagship technology in a thin and light form factor.
- It is the first foldable the mobile phone with a 200 MP wide-angle camera, made possible by a new, thinner engine and a completely new internal design.
- The camera module has shrunk by 18 percent and almost 30,000 simulations have been conducted to create it thinnest 200 MP camera ever in a foldable phone without compromising on image quality.

The Galaxy Z Flip7's camera has also been rebuilt from the ground up to deliver top-notch image quality in an even thinner form factor. To make the design slimmer without compromising on performance, Samsung simplified the entire internal structure of the camera module and used a smaller motor that provides fast autofocus in a smaller format.
More durable material, lighter feel
Galaxy Z Fold7 has been reinforced with even more durable and advanced materials. The outer screen now features Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2[1], which is 30 percent stronger[2] materials than the previous generation. In addition, the frame and hinge cover have been upgraded to Advanced Armor Aluminum[3] – a material that is 10 percent more durable[4] than that used in the Galaxy Z Fold6.
In conclusion
Every hinge, display layer, and camera component in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 has been redesigned with a clear purpose: to give users a sophisticated foldable mobile that feels as smooth as a regular premium phone.
