Sigma Industry West, which delivers cutting-edge expertise in product development, has since its inception grown into a group with 7 companies employing over 650 people. Today the company celebrates its 10th anniversary.
In 2014, several new companies were started within The Sigma Group to broaden the service offering. One of these was Sigma Industry West which, 10 years ago today on February 1, was founded with a focus on delivering engineering services in product development. Right from the start, the ambition was to build a personal and entrepreneur-driven company with the advantages of belonging to a larger group.
- 10 years later, we have managed to maintain the personal climate and created a culture with a lot of warmth and energy. We have also preserved our flat organization, where the majority of the management from the start is still there, says Jens Wickström, Group CEO Sigma Industry West Group.
With a focus on the employees, there have been many trips and events, but they have also taken the turns through their own rock band and the popular SigmaTruck, a food truck that not only serves delicious treats but has also proudly won the Championship in Employer Branding.
Sigma Industry West Group today consists of 7 companies and had a turnover of SEK 740 million in 2023. The group employs over 650 people, who are involved in projects with world-leading customers in a range of different industries. It is a preferred supplier to the major product companies and has received several quality awards over the years as well as increased confidence in running larger customer projects in-house.

Several subsidiaries
The strategy has been to build new companies in various areas of expertise. The year after the start, in 2015, Sigma Embedded Engineering was founded, which focuses on embedded systems, connectivity and software development. The company has had steady growth since its inception and today has 120 employees with operations in Sweden, the USA and Egypt.
In 2016, the opportunity was given to acquire the Swedish part of Aker Solutions. The company changed its name to Sigma Energy & Marine and is today Sweden's largest marine engineering consultant with many international clients. They are also at the absolute forefront of the process industry and strength calculation. Since 2018, the company has a Norwegian subsidiary with offices in Oslo and Stavanger.
The latest addition to the SIW family is CREW by Sigma which delivers expertise outside engineering areas, such as purchasing, logistics, IT, finance and HR.
- Our personal way and the way we organize ourselves in smaller companies creates commitment and an attractive corporate culture. We are creative and not afraid to try new things, which means that we will continue to grow and develop our business.
