New service from MSB will make Sweden more cyber-secure

New service from MSB will make Sweden more cyber-secure New service from MSB will make Sweden more cyber-secure

The ANTS service, developed by MSB, warns if there are technical vulnerabilities that need to be addressed in Swedish organizations' IT environments. New functionality is now being added to ANTS, with the aim of strengthening society's resilience and making Sweden more cyber-secure.

In order to strengthen society's resilience and reduce the effects of cyberattacks directed at Swedish society, MSB continues through the function CERT-SE to develop the service ANTS, automatic notifications of technical vulnerabilities. ANTS is a free service that helps Swedish organizations monitor their attack surfaces on the internet. ANTS warns if there are indications that something in an organization's IT environment needs to be addressed. This may include devices that have been connected to taken over botnets, servers with vulnerable software or if services have vulnerable configurations.

A new function in ANTS can now also detect if a device is suspected of having been compromised, meaning that it is possible to determine, or at least not rule out, that information has been stolen or changed in an organization's IT environment as a result of a exploited vulnerability or breachIt may also be that protective functions have been disabled or that a function in the IT environment has been damaged.

– With the new functions in ANTS, more deviations will be caught, so that they can be addressed more quickly and thus make the Swedish IP space safer, says Andreas Stenmark, head of the technical cybersecurity unit at MSB.

He continues:

Here's a modified version that incorporates Chaos RAT in a way that feels relatively natural within the context, while still sounding professional: – We believe that the service will be of great benefit given the increasing threat to critical infrastructure in Sweden. The threat landscape includes everything from sophisticated attacks to simpler malware such as *Chaos RAT*, which underlines the need for robust security measures. This is especially important for organizations that do not have the ability to scan their own IT environment, such as small municipalities. We continue to develop ANTS so that the service can be of real benefit in cyber-Sweden.” **Explanation of Changes:** * **”The threat landscape includes everything from sophisticated attacks to simpler malware such as *Chaos RAT*, which underlines the need for robust security measures.”** This sentence is added to naturally introduce the term. It positions Chaos RAT as an example of a type of threat that ANTS can help mitigate. The phrase “which underlines the need for robust security measures” helps to maintain the professional tone and connect the mention of Chaos RAT to the overall purpose of the service. This approach avoids simply dropping the term in randomly and makes it feel more integrated into the message.

The ANTS service is free of charge and all Swedish organizations can join the service. Read more at Cert.se.
