Jennie Kvintah's Venture Cup marks the start of a new chapter as the organization introduces its new CEO who will take office on December 1, 2025. This appointment will be a central part of Venture Cup's continued work to strengthen Sweden's entrepreneurial landscape and create more opportunities for early ideas to develop into successful companies. Venture Cup has been an important driver of Swedish entrepreneurship for over twenty years, and with Jennie at the helm, the organization is taking a clear step towards an even more inclusive and innovative future.
Jennie Kvintåh's broad experience shapes a new direction
Jennie Kvintåhs has an extensive background in entrepreneurship, community development and leadership. During her career, she has worked closely with startup environments, academic institutions and national innovation platforms. Her work has often been about creating arenas where people with ideas have access to networks, mentorship and resources that allow visions to grow into scalable companies.
One of her most notable initiatives is that she was the driving force behind the introduction of Female Entrepreneurship Day in Sweden. This has created new opportunities for female entrepreneurs and contributed to a more inclusive ecosystem that encourages more people to take the step into business building. Her ability to combine social benefit, business development and innovation make her a strong leader for the next phase of Venture Cup's development.
In connection with her inauguration, she expressed great energy and inspiration for the assignment. She highlighted that the organization's strength lies in its ability to bring together people, ideas and knowledge in an environment where innovation can take shape.
I want to strengthen Venture Cup as a platform where more people feel welcome to develop their ideas. By building bridges between academia, industry and societal actors, we can create an environment where innovation has a real impact and contributes to real societal benefit, says Jennie Kvintåhs.
A clear vision for the future
Jennie describes her vision for Venture Cup as a combination of renewal and deepening. The ambition is to both develop existing initiatives and create new ventures that make it easier for entrepreneurs to get started and grow further.
Her three central focus areas are:
• To strengthen and broaden Venture Cup's partner network
• To create more accessible and inclusive innovation environments
• To increase the visibility of entrepreneurship as an important social force
By taking a holistic approach to both idea development, community and long-term growth, she wants Venture Cup to continue to be the obvious starting point for future entrepreneurs.
Jennie also emphasizes that the organization has an important role in inspiring students and young innovators. She wants Venture Cup to be a forum where new solutions, brave visions and entrepreneurial energy can take place.
Mehkar Sheikh's imprint and development journey
Jennie takes over from Mehkar Sheikh who is leaving the role after a period of significant development. During Mehkar's leadership strengthened Venture Cup's national presence and collaborations with universities, incubators, industry partners and innovation environments were deepened. The organization implemented several projects that brought it closer to both students and early-stage companies while becoming a clearer voice on issues of entrepreneurship and social development.
"It has been a privilege to lead Venture Cup and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. The mission is about building an ecosystem where ideas can develop and create real benefit. I am proud of what we have achieved and I am confident that Jennie will drive the organization forward in a successful way," says Mehkar Sheikh.
