GlobalConnect recruiting His Jayatissa to a key strategic role with responsibility for the company's quantum initiative and quantum strategy. The Nordic fiber and data center provider thereby strengthens its work to bring quantum-safe technologies to market and increase the security, robustness and competitiveness of Nordic companies and organizations.
Quantum technology is developing rapidly and is already changing the conditions for how digital infrastructure needs to be protected. At the same time the technology opens up new opportunities, it also entails increased risks. The computational power of quantum computers makes it possible to break many of the today's encryption methods which is used to protect business-critical and socially important information.

At the same time, quantum technology offers new ways to strengthen security, for example through quantum encryption. GlobalConnect has tested the technology in its fiber network for several years and already offers solutions based on quantum-safe principles adapted for businesses with high demands on availability and security.
His Jayatissa His mission now is to drive the commercialization of these solutions and ensure they reach customers throughout the Nordic region. He took up the role on October 1st with a clear mandate to further develop and implement GlobalConnect's overall quantum strategy.
Jayatissa has more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry.. He most recently came from KMD, one of Denmark's largest IT suppliers, where he held the role of Head of International Digitalization. Previously, he has held several senior and leading positions within DXC, a global IT services company with a strong presence in digital transformation and critical infrastructure.
In his new role, he will take the next step in GlobalConnects quantum investment by integrating the technology into customers' operations. This includes, among other things, quantum encrypted network connections, monitoring of fiber cables as well as educational efforts to increase understanding of post-quantum security and future threats.
Quantum technology is one of the most dynamic areas in the industry right now. I am passionate about helping customers understand and seize the opportunities of new technology. Quantum technology may still be perceived as science fiction, but it is something most organizations need to start dealing with now, says Hans Jayatissa.
