At the same time, Fortinet is introducing several new features within its SecOps platform. One of the most important is FortiSOC, a cloud-based service that brings together functions from FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR and FortiTIP in an integrated platform.

FortiSOC combines log management, event correlation, and automated incident response into a unified interface. The platform also includes built-in AI and machine learning capabilities that enable faster threat analysis and more effective prioritization of security incidents.

By bringing together multiple security functions into a common platform, Fortinet wants to make it easier for organizations to manage security operations and gain better visibility into security events in both on-premises data centers and cloud-based environments.

Expanded AI capabilities and improved threat response

Fortinet also expands its AI platform FortiAI with more autonomous capabilities that can automate the handling and prioritization of alerts, investigations, and threat hunting. The aim is to reduce the burden on security teams and enable faster responses to advanced cyber threats.

Also the service FortiGuard SOC-as-a-Service gets new features. Among other things, it introduces support for third-party logs and more integrations within the Security Fabric ecosystem, making it easier for organizations to centralize and analyze security data from multiple sources.

Increased automation enables security teams to more quickly identify anomalies and potential intrusions, and AI-based analytics can help uncover threat patterns that would otherwise be difficult to identify in large data sets.

New endpoint platform and evolved SASE architecture

To strengthen endpoint protection, Fortinet also introduces FortiEndpoint. The platform brings together multiple security features in a single agent, including Zero Trust Network Access, Secure Access Service Edge, endpoint protection (EPP) and endpoint detection and response (EDR).

By consolidating these functions into one agent, Fortinet wants to simplify the management of endpoints while strengthening protection against new types of threats, including attacks that exploit AI-based applications.

In the SASE area, also introduced SASE Outpost, a solution that places security controls closer to users and applications. This will improve both performance and security in distributed environments where users work from multiple locations and cloud services.

To address future risks associated with encryption, Fortinet is also implementing advanced cryptographic controls designed to be resilient to threats from future quantum computers.

AI-powered cybersecurity for hybrid and multicloud

The new version Fortinet FortiOS 8.0 marks an important step in the development of AI-based cybersecurity. As organizations adopt more cloud services, hybrid environments, and distributed workplaces, the demand for security platforms that can analyze threats in real time also increases.

Fortinet FortiOS 8.0 is designed to give enterprises greater visibility into network traffic, user behavior and security events across both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures. The platform enables them to automate security responses, identify advanced threats faster and strengthen protection against attacks targeting hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The development reflects a broad trend in the cybersecurity industry where AI and automation are being used to strengthen security operations and reduce the burden on security teams. With Fortinet FortiOS 8.0 The company strengthens its Security Fabric platform and meets the demands of organizations that need AI-based cybersecurity in increasingly complex IT environments.
