DeepL appoints Gonçalo Gaiolas as new Chief Product Officer

Gonçalo Gaiolas has been appointed Chief Product Officer at DeepL and will drive the company's product innovation and expansion within language AI.

DeepL, a global AI product and research company, today announced the appointment of Gonçalo Gaiolas as Chief Product Officer (CPO). With a strong background in product development, cross-functional leadership, and transformative innovation, Gonçalo will focus on continuing to develop DeepL’s powerful enterprise language AI solutions – used by over 200,000 enterprise customers worldwide – while leading the company’s expansion into the agent-based AI market.

Gonçalo has an impressive track record in the technology industry. Most recently, he was the Head of Product and Technology at SoSafe, a B2B cybersecurity company, where he helped double the company’s revenue and expand its global footprint. His ability to build bridges between teams and foster collaboration has been instrumental in leading large-scale projects that drive meaningful change.

Prior to SoSafe, Gonçalo spent over ten years at OutSystems in senior product management roles, including Product Manager, helping customers rethink how to build custom, mission-critical systems. His diverse background also includes advisory roles on several boards, helping startups navigate their growth journey.
