Jabra, a global leader in professional audio and video solutions, today announced Jabra Reach, a single-cable BYOD extension solution. Jabra Reach is designed to help businesses deploy and scale video conferencing more efficiently and consistently in meeting rooms of all sizes. Jabra is also introducing new firmware features for the Jabra PanaCast portfolio, expanding meeting room insights, customization options and device management capabilities.
As organizations increasingly deploy BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) video collaboration solutions to more meeting rooms to support hybrid working, it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide the same user experience from room to room. Different cables, adapters, and room layouts can lead to inconsistent installations, increase the risk of connectivity issues, and increase the administrative burden for AV and IT teams.
Scale up BYOD without increasing complexity
Jabra Reach solves these challenges by replacing fragmented, multi-cable installations with a single connection for video, audio, USB and (optional) power. Users simply connect a laptop via USB-C to access the room’s display, camera, microphones and speakers.
Jabra Reach is built on HDBaseT technology and extends this connection up to 100 meters (328 feet), enabling consistent installations in rooms of varying sizes. This helps installation teams create faster, cleaner installations with fewer potential points of failure and makes it easier to replicate installations at scale.
“Walking into a room and plugging in your own laptop should be the easiest thing in the world, but all too often it isn’t. You have the wrong cable, the wrong plug, a broken signal or a table full of adapters. Jabra Reach solves this at the infrastructure level. Users only need to plug in one cable, and it works with any video bar or room system without affecting the way the existing installation works. This makes the connection reliable and reproducible in every room,” says Holger Reisinger, Senior Vice President of Jabra’s Video Business Unit.

Flexible mounting options allow for sleek, discreet installations at your desk and behind your monitor, while hidden ports and secured cables create a tamper-proof installation. Optional USB-C power delivery of up to 100W also allows you to charge a laptop via the same connection.
Jabra Reach can be managed through Jabra Plus Management, providing centralized visibility and control that helps IT teams configure, monitor and support meeting rooms from a central platform. Designed to work with all of Jabra’s meeting room video solutions, Jabra Reach helps organizations maximize the return on their existing meeting room investments.
New features across the Jabra PanaCast range
In parallel with Jabra Reach, Jabra is expanding its Jabra PanaCast range through firmware updates. The firmware updates add new features to existing Jabra video solutions, enabling better visibility, customization and unified management of devices at scale.
The firmware updates introduce four improvements:
- People Count, which gives organizations better insight into meeting room utilization.
- Custom Wallpaper, which allows companies to customize the screens in meeting rooms with company branding and information.
- Web UI via USB, enabling browser-based configuration and device management.
- CLI functionality, enabling IT teams and AV integrators to deploy and manage devices more efficiently at scale.
The firmware updates will be available across the entire Jabra PanaCast range by the end of the year.
