Cyber Defencely appoints Thomas Skarpsvärd Andersson as new CEO. Andersson has a background as a corporate lawyer in private SaaS companies and CISO in the public sector, and brings experience in building successful technology companies.

Cyber threats and new legal requirements drive demand

The increase in cyber threats and the new Cyber Security Act have led to a high demand for Cyber Defencely's expertise and the free assessment service Cyberresilient.se. Thomas takes over with a clear mission to strengthen Cyber Defencely's ability to meet the extensive need.

– Thomas has exactly the combination of legal acumen, technical understanding and business acumen that Cyber Defensely needs in the next phase. I am convinced that he is the right person to take the company forward commercially, says Emanuel Lipschütz, Chairman of the Board at Cyber Defencely.

New CEO with experience from both law and cybersecurity

Thomas Skarpsvard Andersson is a lawyer with a background as Online Corporate Communications Manager at Electrolux, Head of Legal at the SaaS company Netigate and most recently CISO in Huddinge Municipality. In previous roles, he has both implemented ISO's information security management system and built his own management system for information security and data protection.

– The opportunities are enormous. The cyber security audit in March showed that 90 percent of the authorities fail to comply with information security regulations, and even on the private side, people often sit with fourteen Excel sheets and get few results. Here it is fantastic that with Cyber Defencely's expertise and unique technology we can completely revolutionize the possibilities of organizations to manage their own cyber hygiene, says Thomas Skarpsvärd Andersson, new CEO at Cyber Defencely.
As Co-Founder & Head of Cybersecurity Advisory, Daniel Reinholdsson continues to be a central force in the company, focusing on team deliveries and representing Cyber Defencely's expertise externally through advice and collaborations.

Cybersecurity requires strategic leadership

In January, the new Cybersecurity Act came into force with higher requirements for public and private businesses and their suppliers in 18 sectors. Cyber Defencely helps businesses quickly increase their own ability to meet the threat landscape and legal requirements through experienced expert teams, quality-assured processes and modern AI tools. Cyber Defensely and its sister company Internetworking, with support from the Swedish Civil Defence Agency (formerly MSB), have developed the popular and free Cyberresilient service, which provides an evaluation of a business's security, as well as proposed measures to meet the requirements of the new law.
