Apple launches MacBook Air 2025 with M4 chip – Faster, more efficient and better than ever – Published by IT-Branschen

Apple has officially launched MacBook Air 2025, now equipped with the powerful M4 chip. The updated 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models offer improved performance, longer battery life, and support for multiple external displays. Surprisingly, Apple also lowered starting prices compared to the previous generation.

New design and color options – Sky Blue makes its debut

Apple has retained the thin and light design that MacBook Air is known for but has introduced a new color – “Sky Blue”This bright blue shade shifts tone depending on lighting conditions and makes a stylish addition to the existing color options.

Additionally, the Midnight (black) color now features the same fingerprint-resistant anodizing as the MacBook Pro, reducing visible smudges and making the computer easier to keep clean.

Improved performance and efficiency with the M4 chip

The the new M4 chip in the MacBook Air 2025 provides a significant performance boost. Apple claims that the M4 is twice as fast as the original M1 chip. While the difference over the M3 may not be huge, it still means smoother multitasking and better performance for demanding applications.

Key features of the M4 MacBook Air:

  • Higher performance: Up to 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU for improved graphics and faster responsiveness.
  • Dual external display support: Unlike the M3 model, which could only handle one external display, the M4 can handle two.
  • Improved battery life: Up to 18 hours of battery life thanks to the M4's energy efficiency.
  • More RAM as standard: All models now come with 16GB of unified memory for better management of Apple Intelligence and AI-powered features.

New 12 MP Center Stage Camera and Desk View

Another big upgrade is that the MacBook Air now gets the same 12-megapixel Center Stage camera found in the MacBook ProThe camera has an ultra-wide-angle lens and uses the M4 chip's Neural Engine to follow the user in the frame, making video calls more dynamic and natural.

Mac Studio gets a powerful upgrade with the M3 Ultra

In addition to the new MacBook Air models, Apple has also launched an updated Mac Studio, now with the choice of the M4 Max or the new M3 Ultra chip. The M3 Ultra consists of two interconnected M3 Max processors and is the most powerful The Apple Silicon chip to date.

  • Thunderbolt 5 connection: All six USB-C ports now support Thunderbolt 5 with up to 120 Gbps data transfer speeds.
