(NASDAQ: WDAY), the AI platform for managing people , money and agents , today announced a new unified toolset for AI developers that puts the power of Workday Illuminate directly in the hands of customers and partner developers, enabling them to easily customize and connect AI apps and agents on the Workday platform.
The tools, which were announced on Workday DevCon 2025 , the company's annual developer conference, includes:
- Agent Gateway . Developers will be able to connect third-party agents to Workday Agent System of Record (ASOR) to enable seamless agent registration and collaboration between agents. Partners will also be able to register in Workday's new Agent Partner Network and list their agents on Workday Marketplace . This enables customers to select and deploy the right agents for their specific needs, while having a unified and reliable way to manage their human and digital workforce.
- AI widgets. Developers will be able to add AI-powered widgets to apps and define custom prompts, giving users personalized AI assistance to quickly create and refine content within HR and finance use cases. For example, AI widgets can help with customer support, automate answers to frequently asked questions, or guide users through tasks.
- Expanded AI Gateway APIs. Developers will be able to integrate new Workday AI services directly into apps, allowing users to query reports and understand documents using natural language. For example, a developer can use document intelligence to automatically classify documents and extract key information.

Increase productivity with AI Developer Copilot
Workday also expands Developer Copilot, the conversational AI companion that helps developers code faster, across Workday Extend . Developer Copilot has been proven to increase developer productivity by more than 50%, and now Workday developers will be able to:
- Generate code snippets and data queries for apps. Chat with Developer Copilot to generate code or data queries, then easily embed these suggestions into apps.
- Find the right APIs. Get contextual recommendations on the best API for a specific use case, along with examples to get you started quickly.
- Generate and document orchestrations. Quickly generate functional orchestrations and then prompt to summarize orchestration behavior to create always-up-to-date documentation.
Workday is also introducing a new command-line interface (CLI) tool called the Workday Developer CLI. This will help developers automate development tasks, collaborate more effectively, and integrate Workday into their DevOps workflows.

Availability
Agent Gateway will be available to early customers in late 2025. New Workday AI services, AI widgets, new Developer Copilot capabilities (available with Workday Extend Professional), and the Workday Developer CLI will be generally available in late 2025.
