AI financial modeling takes a new step forward as Galdera Labs launches a new platform for the finance functions of the future.
Galdera Labs is launched today with over SEK 16 million in pre-seed funding. The company is developing a AI-powered financial modeling platform replacing disposable models with a coherent infrastructure that connects financial data directly to business context.
Galdera is founded by the team behind Klarna's internal finance system. The funding round was led by J12 Ventures, with participation from Antler and angel investors from Klarna, DeepL, Stripe and Plata.
A growing problem in finance departments
The problem is familiar to many finance departments. Every time conditions change, a new market opens, pricing is adjusted, or a new planning cycle begins, a new model must be built from scratch.
Once the model is complete, a large part of the input values are often already outdated. This is also an explanation for why AI has had limited impact in the field so far. financial.
Without a common foundation that connects financial data to the decisions behind the numbers, even advanced AI models have nothing meaningful to reason about.
Galdera introduces “reasoning infrastructure”
Galdera solves this with what the company calls ”reasoning infrastructure”.
The platform is built on two integrated layers:
- a powerful calculation engine that can handle large amounts of data
- a semantic memory that connects unstructured business context, strategic decisions and assumptions directly to the financial data
The result is a continuously updated model that accumulates knowledge over time.
The system thus understands not only what the numbers are but also why they change. This enables CFOs to ask questions in plain language and simulate complex scenarios directly in the model in minutes, something that previously could take weeks.
The founders' experience from Klarna
– We ourselves have been up at 2am with 50 spreadsheets with tools that claimed to solve the problem, but didn't. We realized that financial modeling cannot rest on disposable models, regardless of whether they live in Excel or in a SaaS platform.
"Now there is the technology for models that accumulate knowledge as the business develops. That is the infrastructure we are building with Galdera," says Evan Rumpza, Co-Founder and CEO.
The founders Evan Rumpza (CEO), Mattia Scolari (CFO) and Giovanni Casula (CTO) met at Klarna during the company's most intense growth phase.
With responsibility for financial planning in over 26 markets, they saw firsthand how resource-intensive manual processes and fragmented Excel models struggled to keep up with operations when conditions changed faster than the models could be rebuilt.

From internal solution to product
The team therefore built an internal system that replaced the static planning cycle with a continuously updated model.
This enabled three people to do the work that previously required large analysis teams and supported Klarna through both capital raising and IPO preparations.
That experience became the basis for Galdera Labs, which now makes interconnected financial modeling infrastructure available to other finance teams facing the same complexities.
Investment from J12 Ventures and Antler
The pre-seed round on 1.5 million euros, equivalent to just over 16 million kronor, was led by J12 Ventures, with participation from Antler.
Among the angel investors are profiles with leading roles from companies such as Klarna, DeepL, Stripe and Plata.
“The Galder team has already developed a powerful modeling engine in one of Europe’s most demanding financial environments. Now they are advancing the positions on how AI, built on a strong foundation of data, memory and context, can transform how companies plan, forecast and grow.
They are building this with high ambitions and craftsmanship, and we are very happy to support them, says Emmett King, partner at J12.
– Evan, Mattia and Gio represent the type of founders we see as the strongest in Stockholm's tech ecosystem, with very relevant experience from Klarna.
We are very excited to support a team with exactly the right background to solve this problem for FP&A teams around the world, says Tobias Bengtsdahl, partner at Antler.
The platform opens to customers
In connection with the launch, Galdera now opens the platform for their first customers.
The target group is fast-growing companies and companies with complex operations where the speed of decision-making has outpaced the tools finance departments traditionally work with.
About Galdera
Galdera Labs is an AI company that builds financial infrastructure for strategic modeling aimed at CFOs in complex and fast-moving businesses.
By connecting financial data with business context, the platform creates a model that understands why numbers change, not just what they are.
Galdera replaces static, one-off models with a continuous and interconnected infrastructure that enables more accurate forecasts and faster, better-informed decisions.
The company was founded in Stockholm by an international team with deep operational experience from demanding financial environments, such as Klarna, Bain, Deloitte and BlackRock.
Galdera's goal is to build the last financial model a company will ever need.
