Stockholm-based Intric has been awarded the contract to deliver a superior AI platform to the Government Offices. The contract covers one year with the possibility of extension for a further year and marks an important step in the Swedish public sector's commitment to safe and controlled use of AI.
Through the agreement, the Government Offices' employees will have access to Intrics' platform to build, operate and use AI assistants based on the agency's own information. The solution makes it possible to use artificial intelligence without handing over control of the data or infrastructure to external providers.
The platform runs on Swedish infrastructure and can be implemented both as a cloud service and as a local on-prem installation, which provides flexibility while maintaining high requirements for security, integrity and governance.
David Wallen, CEO of Intric, believes that the public sector is facing a growing need to streamline operations with the help of AI.

“Tomorrow's workplace needs AI. When the public sector is expected to deliver more with fewer resources, it will be crucial to streamline administrative and less value-creating tasks. This is where AI can make a real difference. The Government Offices show that it is possible to take that step in a simple, safe and responsible way.”
Focus on data sovereignty and national control
The Government Offices are responsible for information that is central to Sweden's democratic decision-making process, including government decisions, ministerial memoranda, investigations and communication between ministries and authorities. Much of this information is subject to confidentiality under the Public Access and Secrecy Act, which places very high demands on how the information is stored and processed.
According to Intricate The choice of AI platform is therefore not only about functionality or performance, but also about who has the technical and legal control over the infrastructure.
David Wallén develops the reasoning:
“The Government Offices are the heart of the Swedish government administration, responsible for information that cannot be handled in systems where anyone other than the Swedish state has technical or legal control. This is not a question of whether the technology works. It is about who has control over it, where it is located and under what jurisdiction it stands. When the Government Offices now choose a sovereign solution, the authority signals that AI infrastructure for sensitive operations must meet the same requirements for control and sovereignty as all other critical systems.”
Strengthens Intrics' position within the public sector
This is the first procurement of Intrics' AI platform within the Government Offices and at the same time means that the company is strengthening its presence within Swedish government operations.
Intrics' platform is already used by several Swedish authorities as well as other regulated organizations and socially critical institutions in the Nordics and Germany. The company sees the new procurement as further evidence of the increasing demand for AI solutions where the organization itself retains control over data, models and infrastructure.
Platform developed for regulated businesses
Intric's platform is developed to enable authorities and other businesses with high security requirements to build, share and operate AI assistants and AI agents on their own information.
Organizations can choose between several different AI models depending on the application, while the platform can run in traditional cloud environments, installed locally, or in completely isolated, so-called air-gapped environments.
The solution is designed to meet the strictest regulatory requirements in the public sector and other regulated industries, while making implementation and use simple for businesses.
Today, Intrics' platform is used by around 80 municipalities, authorities and other organizations in the Nordic countries and Germany.
