HiQ contributes to the modernization of Sweden's National Library

HiQ has been selected as one of three suppliers in Royal Library framework agreement procurement for IT consulting services. Within the framework of this assignment, HiQ to contribute expertise in areas such as system development, IT security and digital services. The goal is to support the library's important work in making Sweden's cultural heritage and scientific publications more accessible.

HiQ's role in modernizing the Royal Library's digital infrastructure

Royal Library work includes preserving and making accessible everything published in Sweden – from manuscripts, books and newspapers to music, television programmes and images. The authority is also responsible for promoting and coordinating work with open access to scientific publications in Sweden. In addition, the library runs a KB lab, a national infrastructure for digital research and development in artificial intelligence.

The agreement regarding IT consulting services, which runs over a four-year period starting in 2025, is part of the Royal Library's effort to modernize and strengthen its digital infrastructure.

The Royal Library strives to provide equal access to its digital collections for the entire society, which requires a robust and sustainable digital infrastructure. To achieve this, digitization needs to be accelerated, and with the help of AI, material that is already digitized but not described will be made available.
