Henrik Jacobsson, CEO at Creditsafe.

– October marks a clear turnaround after a calmer summer. The increase is worrying, especially since it is coming from already historically high levels. At the same time, we see that the upturn is primarily driven by companies with very low or no turnover, says Henrik Jacobsson, CEO of Creditsafe.

Small companies account for the increase

This month's bankruptcies are dominated by less limited company with low or no turnover. The proportion of such companies is significantly higher than during the same period last year.

Construction and transport are under pressure – trade is recovering

The largest increase in October was noted in consulting firms (+65 %), haulage companies (+44 %) and car repair shops (+38 %).
Also construction industry (+24 %) and hotel and restaurant sector (+11 %) shows a clear increase.

However, trading breaks the trend with a reduction in bankruptcies within

This indicates a cautious recovery in the consumer sector.

The biggest bankruptcy of the month was BRA Sweden AB (Bromma) for, with a turnover on SEK 1.5 billion. The company is part of the same group as Braathens International Airways AB, which went in bankruptcy in September.

  • Dahab AB – 115 million, 7 employees (Helsingborg)
