Apple has officially confirmed that this year's big fall launch will take place on September 9, 2025. Then the new one is presented iPhone 17 series, together with the next generation Apple Watch and probably also new AirPods. The theme for this year's event is ”Awe-dropping”, symbolized by an infrared version of the Apple logo.
Four models of iPhone 17
Apple is expected to launch four models:
- iPhone 17 – a further development of last year's design.
- iPhone 17 Air – a new ultra-thin model that replaces the iPhone 16 Plus and offers a slightly smaller screen.
- iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max – with the same features but different size. The Pro Max may be slightly thicker than before, likely to make room for a larger battery and longer battery life.
In connection with the launch, several older models are being phased out, including: iPhone 15, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3
In addition to new iPhones, two watches are also being introduced: Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. As usual, Apple can also showcase new bracelets in innovative materials and colors that enhance the premium feel.
AirPods Pro 3 and new accessories
Rumors indicate that Apple also launches AirPods Pro 3, which replaces today's Pro 2. A new premium case in the material Techwoven is expected to be the successor to the controversial FineWoven, while Apple's silicone case may get the name Liquid Silicone.
There is also speculation about a iPhone 4-like Bumper Case for iPhone 17 Air and a possible return for MagSafe Battery Pack, specially adapted for the new ultra-thin model.
When and where can you see the event?
Presentation is being held Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 PM Swedish time. The event will be streamed live via:
- Apple.com
- Apple TV app
- Apple's official YouTube channel
Given that Apple usually saves the biggest surprises for the stage itself, additional products or services may also appear during the broadcast.
Why is the event important?
Apple's September event is traditionally the company's biggest and most crucial product launch of the year. New iPhones work like revenue driver for Apple over the next 12 months, and often sets the tone for the entire mobile market.
This year's theme "Awe dropping" signals that Apple wants to combine design innovation with powerful hardware and improved user experience – something that applies especially to the iPhone 17 Air.
