Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a global leader in computational intelligence, announced that 2025 Altair Enlighten Award is now open for submissions. The prize is awarded annually in collaboration with Center for Automotive Research (CAR) and honors the greatest sustainability– and the lightweight advances in automotive industry which reduces the carbon footprint, reduces water and energy consumption and utilizes the reuse and recycling of materials.

The categories for the Enlighten Award are:
- Sustainable product – highlights a production vehicle (or larger system module) that incorporates emission reductions, lightweighting, material circularity and safety advances.
- Sustainable process – highlights processes that enable emission reductions, reuse and/or recycling of materials, and water conservation during the manufacturing or construction phase.
- Lightweight module – Recognizes mass reduction of a vehicle module, subsystem or component.
- Enabling technology – Recognizes technological advances that enable lightweight vehicles, including a material, a production process, a design method, or a joining technique.
- Future of Lightweighting – Recognizes a process, material or technology that is not in production, but has significant potential to advance lightweight vehicles.
- Responsible AI – Recognizes the responsible use of AI throughout the automotive value chain – from design, construction and operation to production and use in traffic.
- Sustainable Computing – Recognizes the implementation of methods and technologies that prioritize energy efficiency, use of renewable energy, reduced environmental impact, and that contribute to more sustainable and environmentally friendly computers.

Enlighten Award entries must be received by June 16, 2025. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 16, 2025, at the annual CAR MBS event.
