New step for Swedish quantum innovation

New step for Swedish quantum innovation New step for Swedish quantum innovation

Swedish industry needs to increase the pace of the ongoing quantum race. That is why an innovation competition in the area is now being launched. This will give the Swedish ecosystem for quantum technology the opportunity to drive development.

The Swedish quantum network QSIP is launching an innovation competition with a prize pool of up to SEK 1.5 million and a pitch final at the venture capital forum GoWest at the end of January.

The innovation competition is built around defined challenges whose solution does not exist in available technology and where quantum technology becomes a viable solution.

With the competition we will show the potential of quantum technology and find new Swedish success stories and use cases, says Camilla Johansson, director of QSIP and group manager at Chalmers Industrial Engineering.

QSIP and the innovation competition will function as a catalyst for collaboration between end users and solution providers.

Participants will submit their quantum solutions to specific challengesThe ideas are then reviewed by a renowned jury including Elisabeth Österlund, Chairman of Svenska Elektronik, and Beatriz Grafulla, Research Manager at Ericsson.

The final of the competition will be held on GoWest in Gothenburg the January 29. Up to five winners will be selected and will share up to 1.5 million kronor to further develop their innovation. The competition is funded by Vinnova.

QSIP's Outreach Manager Jon Wingborg firmly believes in the concept.
