Altair and NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint: A groundbreaking integration

Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR), a global leader in computational intelligence, has announced a technical integration between the NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint for Real Time Digital Twins and the innovation platform Altair One® cloud. The integration leverages GPU acceleration, NVIDIA NIM microservices, and NVIDIA Omniverse technologies to give customers unprecedented ability to visualize, build, edit, and interact with complex simulations and digital twins in a shared turnkey environment. More broadly, it helps organizations harness the full potential of Altair's simulation, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions to drive breakthrough innovation.

A step forward in digital transformation

“By integrating NVIDIA Blackwell acceleration, AI and Omniverse technologies in Altair One, Altair users can take another step forward in their development and digital transformation,” said Sam Mahalingam, Chief Technology Officer, Altair. “Integrating Omniverse’s Blueprint for Real-Time Digital Twins with Altair One gives users a powerful new way to operationalize and evolve workflows with digital twins, data and AI in real time. It’s also another example of how Altair continues to be a leader in all things digital technology and digital twins.”

Improved collaboration and real-time simulation

Leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint for Real-Time Digital Twins in Altair One, users can collaborate and simulate in a shared virtual environment in real time. The technology combines 3D design, AI and ray tracing to create immersive digital environments that serve as a next-level digital workspace for professionals across all industries.

Users benefit from advanced rendering and streaming capabilities in the cloud that simplify how software components work together in large systems, especially those used for AI, data processing, and graphics computing. The integration will open new avenues for innovation and collaboration in areas such as crash and drop test simulations.

Digital twin technology is transforming industry

“Digital twin technology is transforming industries and giving engineers and designers the tools to enable real-time design, optimize faster, and much more,” said Timothy Costa, senior director of CAE and CUDA-X at NVIDIA. “Now Altair users can take advantage of NVIDIA's premium technology to operationalize digital technology and streamline their digital technology workflows.”

Seamless access and efficient data management

Overall, the integration empowers users by giving them seamless, turnkey access to Omniverse Blueprint with minimal effort. This means that if users have built digital twins with Omniverse Blueprint in Altair One, they can easily deploy them in any cloud or on-premises environment.

By systematically cataloging all data with key metadata, Altair One enables data sets to grow across multiple design iterations. This supports the development of models in tools such as Altair® PhysicsAI™, which can reduce analysis time from hours or days to just seconds or minutes.

Altair's continued investment in NVIDIA technology

In addition to the improvements above, Altair leverages NVIDIA technology elsewhere to increase performance. For example, Altair® OptiStruct® now features cuDSS GPU-accelerated Direct Sparse Solver libraries to improve performance on CPUs. and GPU-accelerated architectures, and Altair® EDEM™ will soon support NVIDIA Grace Architecture.

Altair is also excited to announce performance on NVIDIA Blackwell for Altair® ultraFluidX®, Altair® nanoFluidX® and EDEM, showing up to 1.6x improvement on NVIDIA DGX B200. For EDEM, this represents a 40x speedup compared to 32 processors.
