The Norwegian IT provider Move has entered into an agreement to acquire the leading Swedish data storage company Innovation Group. With the acquisition, Move expands its Swedish presence and gains access to cutting-edge expertise in data storage, backup and recovery.
– Today, cybersecurity is at the top of the agenda for most companies, regardless of industry or size. This is due to the increasing number of serious cyber attacks. This is one of the reasons why we are acquiring Innovation Group. "The company fits perfectly into our core area where security, backup and storage solutions are central," says Roald Sannaes, CEO of Move.
This is Move's second acquisition in Sweden after the company acquired AceIQ, a specialist in digital workplaces, in December 2024. Move is a leading Norwegian IT provider that delivers solutions within cybersecurity, hybrid infrastructure, data storage and digital workplaces.
– Becoming part of Move is a perfect fit for us right now. We are the leader in Scandinavia within backup and recovery in large and complex IT environments, but we lack breadth. With Move we gain access to resources and expertise and can deliver more to our customers, says Petter Larsson, CEO of Innovation Group.
Innovation Group started 20 years ago and has grown to become Scandinavia's leading company in storage solutions for larger companies with complex IT environments. The customer list includes several of the largest and most well-known brands in Sweden and Norway, both private and public companies. The core competence is Veritas Backup, which Cohesity acquired in 2024. Innovation Group specializes in, among other things:
- Backup and recovery of physical, virtual and cloud-based environments.
- Protection of business-critical applications (SAP, Oracle, databases, etc.).
- Rapid recovery after disruptions or cyberattacks.
– The acquisition of Innovation Group gives us cutting-edge expertise in areas with strong growth. At the same time, we strengthen our presence in Sweden and gain access to new strategic customers that give us opportunities for cross-selling and upselling, Sannæs continues in Move.
– Together with Move's expertise and resources, we can offer our customers even better solutions and services, while continuing to be Scandinavia's leading supplier of advanced backup solutions, says Larsson at Innovation Group.
The acquisition brings closer integration of the companies' service portfolios, which includes collaboration with providers such as Cohesity.
