Huawei confirms global launch of Pura 90 series on July 14

Huawei has now confirmed that the global launch of the new Pura 90 series will take place on July 14 in Kuala Lumpur. The announcement comes just over two months after the company's new flagship series was first unveiled in the Chinese market. Now it's time for the international premiere of Huawei's latest camera-focused smartphones.

Last year's Pura 80 series was launched globally in July and included the models Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra. Huawei is now following a similar launch strategy for the new generation, indicating a continued focus on the global premium segment.

Huawei announced the launch date through a teaser on the company's official Huawei Mobile account on X with the message:

“"Now is your chance. Witness the unveiling. Kuala Lumpur, July 14, 2026. #UaweiLaunch."”

Although Huawei has so far presented three models in Pura 90 series in the Chinese market, it is still unclear whether all models will be launched globally. There is speculation that the company may choose not to introduce Pura 90 Pro Max outside China.

The teaser image released shows one of the phones in the series with a white finish and an updated design where the camera module is dominated by three large lens rings in a wider camera housing. The design is slightly different from the more exclusive models with gradient finishes presented in China.

Huawei has previously made some adjustments to both hardware and software when the company's flagships were launched internationally. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the global version of the Pura 90 series will have the same specifications as the Chinese models or whether certain components and features will be adapted for international markets.

The global launch on July 14 is expected to provide answers to which models will be available internationally, what technical specifications are offered and how Huawei positions its latest premium series in the global smartphone market.
