Cybercriminals gain access to new tools

In the past, creating convincing digital scams required advanced technical expertise. Today, there are readily available platforms that allow anyone to generate video, audio and image content with AI.

These tools, often marketed towards creators and marketers, now being exploited by cybercriminalsDeepfakes can be created quickly, cheaply, and with high fidelity, making them difficult to detect for both humans and security systems.

The report shows examples of new attacks:

  • CEO fraud where deepfake video is used to trick employees during digital meetings.
  • Recruitment attacks where fake candidates manipulate interviews using AI.
  • Financial sector is seeing an increase in attempts to circumvent KYC checks with false identity documents.

How companies can act proactively

To meet development, companies must take action today. The report recommends that organizations strengthen their cybersecurity by combining technology, routines and training.

  1. Train staff – all employees should be aware of the risks of deepfakes and social manipulation.
  2. Strengthen authentication – multi-factor authentication and biometric solutions reduce the risk of intrusion.
  3. Implement AI-based security systems – modern solutions can analyze patterns and detect synthetic media.
  4. Increase collaborationcompanies should exchange information with industry associations and security suppliers.
  5. Continuous monitoring – Cybersecurity must be seen as an ongoing process, not a one-time project.

AI-generated threats require new solutions

AI-generated media in 2025 brings both new opportunities and growing risks. Companies that don't take the threat seriously risk data theft, financial damage, and lost trust.

To meet the future cyber threats require a combination of technical protection, continuous training and long-term investments in safety. Companies that act proactively today are better equipped against tomorrow's attacks.
