One of Tietoevrys several data centers in Sweden were exposed during the night between January 19 and 20 to a ransomware attack. Although the overall restoration work has begun, the services of the customers affected as a result are still affected.
The attack was limited to a part of one of the affected data centers, which affects Tietoevry's services to some of the company's customers in Sweden. Tietoevry immediately isolated the affected platform, and the ransomware attack has not affected other parts of the company's infrastructure. Tietoevry has taken measures at the highest level to investigate, mitigate and resolve the situation. A team of experts works on several tracks in parallel and around the clock. We have notified the customers who are directly affected by this and we are in dialogue with them for updates on the situation.
- We regret the problems this malicious attack is causing for our customers and anyone affected as a result. We have set aside all the necessary resources to deal with this in the best possible way. We maintain an active dialogue with our customers who are directly affected, says Venke Bordal, Head of Market Sweden, Tietoevry Tech Services.
- At the moment, we cannot say how long it will take to restore the systems, but we are fully focused on solving this as soon as it is technically possible. The security and continuity of our services is of the highest priority for us, and we take this situation very seriously. The incident is being investigated by both internal and external specialists, and as a ransomware attack is a serious criminal act, it has also been reported to the police. Tietoevry is on high alert and monitors the situation continuously, says Venke Bordal.
Tietoevry follows a proven methodology to restore infrastructure and services. The work is carried out in a planned sequence to ensure correct handling of customer data. The schedule may vary slightly depending on the customer, the current solutions and data recovery needs. This work is carried out in close cooperation with the customers concerned.
