The leading visual effects company Important Looking Pirates (ILP) has chosen to renew and expand its agreement with GlobalConnect regarding colocation, meaning that ILP places its own IT equipment in GlobalConnect's data center. With continued growth and increased demands for reliable and sustainable IT operations, ILP chooses to secure its digital infrastructure with a Nordic player with a local presence and long-term capacity to meet tomorrow's digital needs.
ILP has been a customer of GlobalConnect since 2013. The new five-year agreement builds on the long-standing collaboration and more than doubles the capacity of the data center, as the company's technical needs continue to increase.
“Our business requires high performance, 24/7 availability and security in every part of our digital infrastructure. GlobalConnect offers not only technical capacity, but also a local and reliable partner relationship that matches our values around security and sustainability,” says Christoffer Bing, Head of IT at Important Looking Pirates.
GlobalConnect is currently expanding its data center capacity in the Nordics to meet a fast growing demand – driven by technologies such as AI, cloud services, streaming and edge computing, but also by an increased need for data sovereignty in a changing geopolitical environment. At the same time, the requirements for secure and local data storage are tightening.
“We see an increased need for secure, robust and locally anchored alternatives for managing business-critical data. With our colocation capacity and strong Nordic presence, we create the conditions for companies like Important Looking Pirates to grow with high availability, security and control,” says Anna Granö, EVP B2B at GlobalConnect.
The renewed agreement marks a continued commitment from Important Looking Pirates to GlobalConnect as a provider of data center capacity. The collaboration, which began in 2013, now encompasses a significantly expanded effect and runs over five years. The agreement ensures ILP access to a scalable and secure infrastructure adapted to future needs.
